Still a work in progress

HOUZZ to the rescue!

Love at first sight is real! There was so much I loved when discovering this photo (below) on Homestead Kitchens Houzz Ideabook.  Click! The photo was immediately added to my powder room ideabook and served as inspiration for our space.

I could have picked up this entire powder room and relocated it to my home, but doubt the homeowners would have been pleased with that idea.

Our powder room has a few tweaks, not because we think we could improve. The original is perfect! We simply looked at our home and made changes that would be a fun nod to nautical and to the nearby spaces in our home.

  • Our cabinet doors extend from top to bottom without a faux drawer in front of the sink.
  • The corner posts are rope turned posts from Van Dyke's to give a nod to the lake behind our home
  • The window is a porthole
  • The sconce lights are from the same collection as our foyer lights, bringing the two spaces together.
  • The tile border around the cabinet base is made from iridescent tiles.
  • We used paint on the cabinet and mirror frame instead of stain since we wanted to keep more cool colors in our home.
I'm ready for the hardware to be added, hang a wonderful framed piece with multiple lighthouse photographs, add some wonderful towels, and the room will be complete!
