Houston ASID showcase home 2017

The first weekend open and I've already visited this 10,000 SF home twice. It is a refreshing beauty after the overload of dark spaces in some previous show homes. Adding the inlaw suite and barn, there is a total of 14,000 SF, as advertised by the ASID.

The tour boasts 30 distinct spaces designed by multiple designers. To tour the house, tickets can be purchased online, at the door, or from various design firms involved in the showcase.

Ticket information: Event Brite

Take cash if you want to purchase from a design firm or at the door. We bought our tickets at Arbor Gate on FM 2920, west of Tomball, for $20 cash.  It was a short drive to the showcase, where tickets are $25 at the door.

Although the home is filled with creativity and beautiful design, my two favorite spaces were the living area of the inlaw suite, and the outdoor space behind the indoor kitchen.

The inlaw suite living area was designed by the Chairma Design Group.

My favorite outdoor space was designed by Paul Kevin Dix of Paul Kevin Dix Designs. Although I do not have a photo to share. It's summer and the heat fried my brain momentarily?  But the patio dining table has to be seen to be appreciated. It is a ginormous table top cut from the truck of a huge tree.

I took way too many photos to share, but here are some fun spaces:

When raised up, this becomes a wonderful workspace.
